On the day Jim Goldie was forced to call time on the career of one of his favourite old boys, another stable stalwart did the trainer proud.
Just a few hours after the retirement of 2012 Stewards’ Cup winner Hawkeyethenoo had been revealed, Jonny Delta carried the same colours to victory in the 1m4½f handicap.
The ten-year-old reaped the benefit of a positive ride from Danny Tudhope, showing plenty of spirit to hold off Question Of Faith.
