Delighted Whittington joins 100 club as Captain Tommy shocks 1-7 shot Umndeni

Harry Whittington sent out the 100th winner of his career when Captain Tommy upset 1-7 favourite Umndeni under a fine ride from Gavin Sheehan in the 2m5½f novice hurdle.

The affable and engaging Whittington, who trains on the outskirts of Lambourn, saddled his first winner at Huntingdon in February 2011 when Mount Benger landed a hunter chase.

Top-level glory followed in 2016 when Arzal won the Manifesto Novices' Chase at Aintree's Grand National meeting, while a host of Graded prizes have made their way on to the trainer's CV.
