Never say die. That was the name of Lester Piggott's first Derby winner and it was the watchword of Silvestre de Sousa as he kicked off a 217-1 four-timer.

If you backed the heavily-supported favourite Indomeneo, you will never forget the champion jockey's first visit to Ripon in 2018.

It looked as if the 5-2 shot's chance was gone when he was blocked in his run on the far rail in between the three and two furlong poles in the 1m2f handicap, yet the champion jockey was not to be denied.
