Paul Nicholls landed a double at one of his local courses, although the Ditcheat trainer was made to wait with a lengthy delay necessary between the first and second races of the afternoon.

Nicholls had to wait more than half an hour extra than was originally scheduled between the opening two races before he could witness Highclere-owned mare Danse Idol complete a double for him. The delay was caused when a gentleman was taken ill in the stable lads canteen, with the racecourse waiting for an air ambulance.

However, the five-year-old took the delay in her stride and was most impressive in the manner in which she opened her account on her hurdling debut.
