Dandhu lands Classic trial but soft ground key to her 1,000 Guineas chance

Desert Orchid's trainer David Elsworth's Qipco 1,000 Guineas dream is alive and kicking after Dandhu landed the Dubai Duty Free-backed Fred Darling, but jumping ground is the wish at Newmarket in three weeks.

The daughter of Dandy Man, who was ridden by Gerald Mosse, is 10-1 (from 16) with Betfair for the Newmarket Classic and Elsworth, who trains in the town, was bursting with pride.

"She's been cantering all winter and spring was coming round so I was thinking we've got to get this filly to do a bit and maybe gallop her," he said.
