Daklondike gets best of Silver Buck slog after track turns attritional

Easy Wetherby winner Daklondike relished the testing conditions and put a disappointing subsequent effort behind him in the £15,000 Silver Buck Handicap Chase, taking it up down the far side and coming home three and three-quarter lengths clear of Pink Gin.

David Pipe had been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast through the week, and the overnight rain had been just what the doctor ordered.

He said: "He won well at Wetherby and then we had to run him again quickly. He ran okay, but not so well as we hoped, so we freshened him up to wait for something like this.
