Daddies Girl helps hot Rod make up for horsebox breakdown

An engine failure in the horsebox prevented a previous engagement at this track last month, but an awayday proved just as effective in readying the Rod Millman-trained Daddies Girl for feature race success on her return to action in the 1m½f fillies’ handicap.

The four-year-old boosted her course record to two wins and a second from three starts by powering home from the rear to land the £25,000 event by a length under Theodore Ladd.

A black-type mission in the Nottinghamshire Oaks on June 2 is among possible targets for Daddies Girl.
