Cut The Corner continued his resurgence under rules for Alastair Ralph with a second feature-race win at the course in nine days.

Amateur rider Alex Edwards once again impressed in the saddle as the nine-year-old, who won at Kingston Blount for Martin Weston during a point-to-point campaign earlier in the year, defeated Muwalla by two and a half lengths.

Ralph, former assistant to Henry Daly, described the Bill Hawkins-owned Cut The Corner as a “very versatile, tough and genuine horse”.
