Cue Card should be Gold Cup favourite

How Cue Card is not favourite for the Gold Cup I do not know. This is a horse who won the Betfair Chase and King George last year – and fell when looking like the winner in the Gold Cup, where we know he flies up the hill.

He has won two Grade 1s since and arguably put up a career best in dismantling former Gold Cup winner Coneygree by a whopping 15 lengths. He was sent off 5-2 last year and if the race was run today he'd be even shorter. The 7-1 looks a steal.

Coneygree will certainly finish closer in the King George and we will have a better idea of where he fits in the Gold Cup picture after that. For now it is just good to have him back.
