Festival entry Crucial Role the headline act in Skelton treble

Dan Skelton was represented in every race and it paid dividends with a treble headlined by the smooth success of Crucial Role.

The seven-year-old, who holds entries in the RSA Chase and Ultima at the Cheltenham Festival, has had an up-and-down campaign over fences, largely impacted by broken blood vessels on two separate occasions at Haydock, but showcased his ability in the 2m6½f novice handicap chase.

Skelton said of Crucial Role: "We're delighted with him. He's been to Haydock twice and he's bled twice for some reason. I've no idea why as he never does at home, it's one of those really strange things.
