Crazy Horse repays Gosden patience on easier ground

John Gosden has long been known for having the patience of Job and he reaped its reward when last year's Horris Hill winner Crazy Horse again showed his liking for autumn conditions to land the feature on an eight-race card.

In doing so, he denied Richard Hannon what would have been an even more miraculous result, with Estidhkaar going down all guns blazing after 421 days off the track.

Gosden was not tempted to run Crazy Horse, owned by the trainer's wife Rachel Hood, on unsuitably fast ground after his French 2,000 Guineas sixth in May and was paid back as Robert Havlin drove him out to land the 7f conditions events.
