Course specialist Sapphire sparkles again for Dartnall
Runners in the early stages of the novice hurdle won by CapelandCredit: Harry Trump
The old adage about horses for courses could have been coined for Midnight Sapphire as all the mare's four victories have been at the Devon circuit – the latest coming with this romp in the 2m5½f handicap hurdle.
Trainer Victor Dartnall said: "She loves this place as it probably suits her because she's not much bigger than a gymkhana pony – in fact, when she first came to the yard I phoned her owner Rod Harding and told him to take her away because she was too small.
