It was a day of firsts with the inaugural running of the Injured Jockeys Fund Surrey National won by Coolking, who was making his debut for Gary Moore after moving from Chris Gordon in the new year.

Tom Cannon kept the ride on the ten-year-old and held off the trainer's son Jamie Moore from spoiling the party after he came in for the ride on runner-up Delgany Demon.
