Consistent Stormy Belle blows away rivals for in-form Fahy

After landing the bumper with the impressive Drop The Anchor on Tuesday, trainer Pat Fahy may not have expected to visit the winner's enclosure quite so soon, but Stormy Belle has proved a consistent filly for him this season and showed it again as she bravely landed the 30,000 Brandon Hotel Handicap.

Another filly that has turned a corner since coming in foal – to Elzaam in her case – the daughter of Dandy Man put an unlucky defeat at Roscommon behind her as she held off the late effort of Band Of Outlaws to score by a diminishing head.

Fahy said: "We were undecided where we were going to go. We had thought we would give her one shot at a black-type race, but her owner Pat Byrne preferred to have a winner here."
