Conservationist introduced in 1,000 Guineas market after opening account for Cox
Saturday: Haydock
Clive Cox is confident Conservationist can live up to her potential after she recorded her first career victory and received quotes of 33-1 for next year's 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket.
The two-year-old daughter of Muhaarar was too strong for her ten rivals and finished two and a half lengths clear of the field in the opening fillies' novice.
Cox said: "We'll see how she comes out of this race before we decide our next move, but I couldn't be more pleased and she looked exciting based on that performance.
"She's taken a big step forward after her pleasing debut when she was second at Newmarket and she got the mile really well."
The Lambourn trainer, who recently passed the half-century mark for winners in 2022, added: "A mile is as far as we'd go with her this year as she's still learning the job.
"We've had an exceptionally dry summer and it's held us back with our plans for her, but she's a filly with plenty of size and scope and we can look forward to next year."
Super Saturday
Charlie Hills will not forget this day for a long time after he fired in a 968-1 across-the-card treble, with two winners at this meeting adding to the Lambourn trainer's tremendous Goffs Million success with Galeron at the Curragh.
Hills opened his account for the afternoon with Wanees, who was the 5-1 winner of the mile handicap. Partnered by Dane O'Neill, trainer and jockey followed up that victory with another as 17-2 shot Equality showed his class in the feature 5f handicap.
In-form Beckett
Following his triumphant success with Lezoo in the Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket, Ralph Beckett teamed up with Hector Crouch on this card to land a double with Salt Bay and Grey's Monument.
