Britain's premier Classic, the Investec Derby, could be the main target for the Mark Johnston-trained Persian Moon next season following his impressive front-running success in the three-runner 1m½f conditions stakes, a race won last year by stablemate and subsequent Derby runner-up Dee Ex Bee.

The son of Makfi, who looks likely to run in the Derby trial here in April, had previously finished third in the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York before trailing home fourth of five on unsuitably heavy ground at Haydock last time.
