Connect bounces back to win Listed Silver Tankard for Cox and Kirby
The Clive Cox-trained juvenile Connect bounced back to form to run out a clear-cut winner of the £35,000 Listed ebfstallions.com Silver Tankard over a mile.
Having disappointed on his previous start in the Solario when prominent early on, he was ridden with more restraint on this occasion. Once Adam Kirby set him alight early in the straight, he grabbed a clear advantage which he never looked like relinquishing to beat Lisheen Castle by a decisive two and three-quarter lengths.
By the Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Roderic O'Connor, the winner runs in the colours of Alan Spence having been bought by Cox for €67,000 as a yearling last September.
