Saturday afternoon was a real shot in the arm for anyone answering to the name Twiston-Davies, with Sam returning from injury to a headline win on Frodon and Nigel’s beloved warrior The New One landing his third International Hurdle.

Sam’s victory in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup was a great strike in terms of getting his season back on a roll. Jump jockeys are tough and insanely brave but every man jack of them needs confidence pulsing through them alongside the adrenaline.

Confidence is the high-octane ingredient that fuels jockeys, old and young, Flat and jumps, brilliant and ordinary.
