Cobden: McFabulous will be one of our smarter ones

Top bumper performer McFabulous got off the mark over hurdles for Paul Nicholls at Market Rasen, convincingly defeating Hometown Boy by three and three-quarter lengths under Harry Cobden.

The 5-4 favourite has smart form in the book from last season, after defeating the likes of Master Debonair and Thebannerkingrebel in a Grade 2 bumper at Aintree last April.

McFabulous had struggled over obstacles this season, with Master Debonair overturning their previous form at Ascot last time out, and Cobden was delighted the six-year-old got off the mark for the season in the 2m4½f novice hurdle qualifier.
