An unseat from Thyme White in the Gerry Feilden Hurdle at Newbury on Saturday resulted in a “good few kicks” for Harry Cobden but the leading jump jockey bounced back on his return with a treble from three rides for Paul Nicholls.

Nicholls boasts a fantastic 53 per cent strike-rate (9-17) over jumps at Southwell in the last five seasons after Glajou, Lucky One and Barbados Buck’s ran out impressive winners.

It was a first victory for the smooth-travelling Glajou in the feature 2m novice handicap chase and Lucky One, who routed the opposition in the 2m maiden hurdle by 14 lengths, while the progressive Barbados Buck’s, from the family of Big Buck's, sealed back-to-back course-and-distance wins in the 3m novice hurdle.
