Classy Dancealot back on winning trail after 'muddling' season

A year after he finished sixth to Rivet in the Racing Post Trophy, having previously won the Listed Rockingham Stakes at York, Sir Dancelot was winless.

Things hadn't worked out for him in 2017 but, teaming up with Ryan Moore, he got back on the winning trail with a game victory in the 7f conditions race which last year was won by subsequent Group winner Sovereign Debt.

Although he was sent off at 10-11, the stats weren't in his favour as only one three-year-old and one favourite had won the race in the last ten years.
