Sam Twiston-Davies was the man of the moment – many moments in fact – as he supplemented his victory on Politologue in the feature Haldon Gold Cup with a further three winners.

His success on Politologue for Paul Nicholls completed a quick double for jockey and trainer, the pair having combined with Dynamite Dollars in the preceding 2m1f novice hurdle.

Twiston-Davies’s afternoon just got better and better, as he went on to win the 3m novice chase on Ballyoptic, trained by his father Nigel, and then the 2m2½f handicap hurdle on Norse Light, trained by David Dennis.
