When Topsoil was bucking and squealing in the parade ring before he won the 5f handicap a post-race gelding operation might have seemed on the cards. But in-form trainer Ron Harris, who completed a double with Secret Potion, soon set the record straight.

Topsoil, who dared connections into just one winning photograph after his 8-1 success, was listed as a colt in yesterday's Racing Post and on the racecard, but Harris said: "He's been very difficult to train; his family are all the same and Kheleyfs are a bit hot-headed.

"We got him cut early, but Weatherbys have got it all wrong. I don't know what's happened, but his passport is stamped as a gelding by Weatherbys.
