Cheveley Park Stud were at it again as Perfection took advantage of a drop in class and a first-time visor to land the richest race of the year at Pontefract.

The powerful bloodstock operation have always been keen to run classy fillies in Listed races at the West Yorkshire track, landing the Pipalong Stakes in its early years with Chorist and Red Bloom and also taking the latest running last month with Exhort.

Perfection had gone close several times in better company since scoring at this level at Newmarket last October and justified 5-2 favouritism in the £60,000 EBF Stallions Highfield Farm Flying Fillies' Stakes, holding on well under Silvestre de Sousa to win by half a length from Shades Of Blue.
