Chapple-Hyam hoping for another Secret with her new Connoisseur
Jane Chapple-Hyam continued her knack of rekindling a veteran sprinter's verve with Suzi's Connoisseur's ready success under apprentice Ray Dawson in the 6f handicap.
"I don't know if he's a Secret Asset but we will try," said the Newmarket trainer after her seven-year-old's four-length victory, referring to another veteran sprinter she guided to an international career later in life.
Of Suzi's Connoisseur, who has been trained before by Mark Johnston, Hugo Palmer, Stuart Williams and Charlie McBride, she added: "He used to be rated 100 and I don't mind what age they are as I am a believer if they've shown that ability maybe you can get it back again – I've just got to find an owner for him now!"
