Change of scenery does the trick for Temple as Ghiani boots him home in feature
Sunday: Brighton
Joint-trainers Mike Murphy and Michael Keady are doing well with new recruits and they hit the target again as Temple Bruer carried off the biggest prize on the card on his first run for the stable.
The 7-2 chance moved to the front at the furlong pole in the 6f handicap under Marco Ghiani and soon had the race in safe keeping.
Owner Roger Moore recently switched the four-year-old and another of his horses, Cooperation, from trainer Roger Cowell.
“Cooperation won on his first run for us and it’s great that we’ve been able to do it again with this one,” said Murphy.
“We fitted him with a tongue-tie as he had been making a little bit of a noise, although it wasn’t a major issue.”
Padre off the mark
Newmarket trainer Andi Brown is always keen on a trip to the seaside and he enjoyed it even more on this occasion as Padre Daniele obliged at the sixth attempt in the 5f juvenile maiden in the hands of Rob Hornby.
“I love coming to Brighton and it’s great to have a winner here – it’s a shame the owner couldn't make it,” said Brown, who has only a handful of horses.
“He was a long way back at one stage and I wasn’t very confident but he did it well in the end. I’m sure the blinkers were a help.”
Ryan Split strike
Rossa Ryan has experienced a turbulent few days after news broke of his possible split with Amo Racing and he had a welcome success when getting home by a nose on Split Elevens in the mile handicap, having drawn a blank in the four previous races on strongly fancied mounts.
