Champion Bumper runner-up Appreciate It made the perfect start to his hurdling career, with winning rider Paul Townend describing the
1-12 favourite's jumping as "deadly".

The Willie Mullins-trained six-year-old was entitled to outclass his rivals over a 2m trip that's likely short of his optimum, but connections of the Grade 2 bumper winner can take encouragement from how he jumped and asserted in the closing stages.

"I'm very happy with that," Townend said of Appreciate It, who is a general 12-1 chance for the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle.
