Champion ace Price is right as Rowlestone Lass gets back on track

Trainer Richard Price, who 23 years ago won the Champion Hurdle with Flakey Dove, worked his magic on another mare as Rowlestone Lass bounced back to form in the fillies' race for apprentice jockeys on Monday night.

More in common with jumpers, the 16-1 winner was pulled up at Wolverhampton on her last appearance, but struck here under Clifford Lee.

Price, who now trains in Herefordshire, said: "I don't know what happened last time. I thought she was coming to win her race, but George Baker thought she'd gone wrong and pulled her up. Nothing was found to be amiss, so we're over the moon we did the right thing in running her as there was nothing wrong.
