Many horses will have their campaigns geared towards the four-day March extravaganza that is the Cheltenham Festival, and should Champagne Court end up at the meeting, there will be an added financial incentive in play.

The six-year-old won the first of five Cheltenham bonus series races to be staged at Plumpton, meaning connections will scoop an additional £60,000 should he go on to win a chase at the festival.

The bonus, which was won by Arkle winner Voy Por Ustedes in the 2005-06 season, offers £50,000 to the winning owner, £5,000 to the trainer and the remaining £5,000 to stable staff in the trainer's yard.
