Challow Hurdle next for Hobbs impresssive Ballymore winner Thyme Hill

Philip Hobbs already has an established Grade 1 horse in Defi Du Seuil, who returns to action at Cheltenham on Sunday, and stablemate Thyme Hill again gave the impression he has what it takes to reach the top with a comfortable win in the Grade 2 Ballymore Novices' Hurdle under a 5lb penalty.

Third in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham last season, Thyme Hill was slick when making a winning debut over hurdles at Chepstow last month and again put up a professional display under champion jockey Richard Johnson.

"He jumped fantastically well at Chepstow and again here, especially in the second part of the race," said Hobbs. "He's not the biggest in the world but he's very genuine and tough and copes with soft ground."
