An ultimately straightforward win for 1-6 favourite Carolinae in the fillies' conditions race was the subject of some controversy as she arrived at the course late due to traffic problems on the M11.

Connections of runner-up First Experience believed a runner had to be on the course within 45 minutes of the race and raised the issue with stewards' secretary Colin Vickers.

Barry Greening, owner of First Experience, said: "Everyone was telling me if a horse is not here 45 minutes before a race then you can't run and I just wanted clarification – the best horse won."
