Country Carnival provided trainer David O'Meara with a timely boost with a comprehensive win in the 5f novice, despite a big drift in the betting.

Fourth on her debut at Newcastle earlier this month, the daughter of Mayson was eased out to 12-1, having been 17-2 earlier in the day.

However the market got it wrong, as the filly produced a fine turn of foot to defeat Ready Freddie Go by two and three-quarter lengths.
