Henry Brooke took full advantage of this additional jumps fixture by riding a first winner for trainers Sandy Thomson and Ian Duncan in a quickfire 29-1 double.

Brooke enjoyed success for Thomson at the second attempt with Mcgowan’s Pass, owned by Worcestershire-based Ann Lee, reversing recent form with Cool Mix in the 2m maiden hurdle.

The six-year-old boasts strong bumper form and stepped up on his hurdling debut at Newcastle to score by three and a half lengths.
