Unfortunately, who completed the Prix Robert Papin-Prix Morny double last season, struck for the first time since being bought by Cheveley Park Stud a year ago when swooping for a half length win in the Group 3 Renaissance Stakes.

The winner was ending a memorable September in Ireland for trainer Karl Burke, who enjoyed Group 1 victories with Laurens and Havana Grey on Irish Champions Weekend.

After Unfortunately's win under Chris Hayes, the North Yorkshire trainer said: "The dry summer we had did him no favours and he got a bit jarred up when he ran at Royal Ascot.
