Royal Ascot formed a honeymoon experience of sorts for popular BBC Breakfast sports presenter Mike Bushell and his wife Emily, whose day involved getting dirty shoes and chatting with the greatest jump jockey.

The recently married Bushells – whose official honeymoon takes place in Sardinia later this summer – were at Ascot along with the groom's daughter, Lucy, and all three were enjoying their day at the races.

"I came here once before and it's very exciting to be back," said Mrs Bushell, although Mr Bushell, a man whose daring escapades on the sporting front have produced many an enjoyable brekkie feature, ensured the day was not all glamorous.
