It is possible that at no racecourse on no afternoon is more make-up worn than at Aintree on Ladies' Day. On this occasion a considerable amount of it adorned the face of ITV Racing's Oli Bell.

Generally speaking the boyish good looks of Bell need no artificial assistance, but The Opening Show presenter has been working at the Grand National festival under a mound of powder.

Bell's problem is his nose, which was punched very hard as he sparred in preparation for his white collar boxing debut at the Clapham Grand on Thursday, when the brave broadcaster will be seeking to raise money for the children's charity Well Child.
