Bookmakers take different views over Enable's Arc claims after King George win
Enable's thrilling victory in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes wowed racegoers and extended her winning streak to 11, but it did not increase the likelihood of a historic third victory in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe according to bookmakers Paddy Power and Betfair.
Betfair pushed Enable out to a standout 7-4 (from 6-4) while Paddy Power offered 13-8 (from 6-4) before both firms were forced to retreat to their initial price – still the top price available – in the face of Arc support.
Other firms were more impressed and Enable was generally clipped for the Arc, which takes place at Longchamp on October 6. She is as short as evens to create history by winning the race for a third time.
Runner-up Crystal Ocean remains a top price of 10-1 with Paddy Power and Unibet, although he has been cut to half that price with two firms.
Waldgeist, who finished third, has been trimmed to a general 16-1.
