Blithe blitzes rivals to equal track tally of dam Damalis

Like mother, like daughter. Damalis won five times around Chester for trainer Eric Alston and owners Liam and Tony Ferguson, and her daughter Blithe Spirit has, remarkably, now matched that tally after blitzing her rivals in the 5f handicap.

The five-year-old produced a scorching start from stall two under Jason Hart and never looked to be in any danger in making all by two and a quarter lengths.

Alston, in attendance with his wife Sue, said: "She's amazing around here. She's only a small filly but for me she's a stronger filly this year. She'll go to Goodwood on Tuesday if she's okay."
