The world was a very different place when Un Beau Roman last won but the 12-year-old, who is part of the furniture at Paul Henderson's yard near Salisbury, snapped a losing run of 26 stretching back to November 2016 when he made all under a positive Nick Scholfield ride in the 2m3½f handicap chase.

Formerly trained by Willie Mullins, Un Beau Roman's last success saw Henderson claim a valuable prize at Cheltenham in a race screened live on Channel 4.

Retirement could loom for the veteran, now the winner of six of his 64 races, but another outing is forecast first.
