Rachael Blackmore warmed up for her first mount in an Irish Classic when she guided the Karl Thornton-trained Oromo to an emphatic victory in division one of the 1m5½f handicap at Fairyhouse.

The insatiable 30-year-old has been booked to partner King Of The Throne for Emmet Mullins in Saturday’s Irish Derby. She has carved a lucrative niche for herself on the Flat during the summer months in recent years, and this was her third win on the level in the past couple of weeks.
