Black Kalanisi wins Challenge Cup at Brighton in stewards' room

The feature race on day two of Brighton's three-day festival did not lack for drama, with Black Kalanisi awarded victory in the stewards' room.

Second past the post behind Htilominlo in the 1m4f handicap, a race which is run for the Brighton Challenge Cup, Black Kalanisi received a couple of bumps from the original winner inside the final furlong when going down narrowly.

Following a lengthy inquiry, the stewards decided sufficient interference had occurred and revised the placings.
