Gordon Elliott says Jamie Codd has a soft spot for Bigbadandbeautiful and it is easy to see why after the pair swooped late to land the Listed 2m mares’ bumper in front of the Navan crowd.

Favourite backers must have been concerned Codd had left himself with too much to do turning for home, and he was fully a dozen lengths off the pace with the majority of the field in front of him, but they need not have worried.

Bigbadandbeautiful cut through the pack in the manner of a seriously smart animal and put six lengths between herself and runner-up, Dreamingandhoping, at the line.
