Big step forward from Heshem as Ultra makes promising comeback

Heshem handled the step up from all-weather conditions race to Group 2 with aplomb at Maisons-Laffitte on Sunday, holding off the challenge of Ultra, who lost an unbeaten record but little else on his first start following a splint injury.

In a Prix Eugene Adam in which Viserano attempted to make all in a solo bid up the far-side rail, Gregory Benoist had Heshem in position to strike in behind the leaders of the main group.

Mickael Barzalona followed the winner through on Ultra, who picked up well on his first start since the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere last October.
