Big Mac fries but still manages a treble on sun-soaked Rowley Mile

There is little respite to be had on the Rowley Mile when the temperatures are pushing 30 degrees, but PJ McDonald somehow managed to put his rivals in the shade with a treble.

Riding in such high temperatures is compounded by the compulsory wearing of masks for riders, which McDonald admitted he was struggling with despite his three winners.

The treble kicked off as early as the opening 5f sprint, which could have been a staged as a veterans' handicap as the finish concerned ten-year-olds Line Of Reason and Secretinthepark.
