The dream is alive. A cheque of €16,000 for winning the rated chase is not to be sniffed at, but Liam Cusack will be fancying his chances of a major payout with Snugsborough Benny after his stable star romped home in the feature.

The win was a crucial one as it almost guarantees Snugsborough Benny a run in some of the major spring handicaps, including the €500,000 Boylesports Irish Grand National on Easter Monday, which will come under consideration according to the handler.

He said: “That’s a nice pot to win. There is a good novice handicap at the Punchestown Festival over three miles and the Irish National is also a possible. We have the price of an entry for it anyway after this.”
