There was no band playing after racing at the track but there was a battle of the Banjos in the featured chase, in which Bells 'N' Banjos called the tune over Dueling Banjos.

Associates of the winning owners, the Maple Hurst Partnership, had evidently availed themselves of the Banjos forecast, and it is to be hoped it was placed with a bookmaker, with the computer straight forecast paying £74.29, in contrast with £34.50 for the Tote Exacta.

Successful trainer Fergal O'Brien is a regular at the track, not only for the beef rolls, and the winner now may tackle the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham after his dour success in the 2m5½f contest under Paddy Brennan.
