They say you should go out at the top, and Save The Bees may well do just that after landing his biggest career win in the £25,000 Jockey Club Grassroots Middle Distance Final.

Winning trainer Declan Carroll is a big supporter of the series and with good reason, as he picked up the sister final for sprinters with Whozthecat 12 months ago.

A follow-up bid by last year's winner Lord Franklin came to nothing in the 1m2f contest as Save The Bees broke hearts with an all-the way win at 33-1.
