Bastiman adds to impressive strike-rate as Harbour comes good

It may be a 402-mile round trip from Rebecca Bastiman’s North Yorkshire base but the trainer remains unfazed as she furthered her already impressive strike-rate at the Welsh circuit after Harbour Patrol took the 7f handicap.

Harbour Patrol’s length-and-three-quarter verdict over Lawfilly saw the trainer take her record to three wins from seven runners at the Monmouthshire track, an impressive strike-rate of 43 per cent.

Bastiman said: “It took us five hours to get here but I don’t mind as we’ll go anywhere for a winner and I thought this horse was about to strike form as he had been a very good second at Ayr earlier this month.
