Bartholomeu set for Classic trial after storming to 13-length victory

Hong Kong-based owner PK Siu completed a productive day on both sides of the English Channel when Bartholomeu Dias lit up an otherwise average card.

Just 25 minutes after Siu’s top older horse Stormy Antarctic landed a Group 3 at Saint-Cloud, Bartholomeu Dias ran away with the 1m1½f novice median auction to set up a possible Classic bid.

The son of Mount Nelson looked in the same sort of form that had carried him to an excellent fourth in the Chesham Stakes last year and may now have a tilt at the Listed Feilden Stakes at Newmarket in a fortnight’s time.
