Barracuda Boy swoops late to again deny Ellison a valuable Newcastle win
What is it about trying to win big races at Newcastle for Brian Ellison? Just four weeks after his Seamour was agonisingly beaten into second after looking all over the winner of the Northumberland Plate, it happened again for the Malton trainer when his well-backed favourite Northgate Lad was caught in the last stride in the feature 7f handicap.

A furlong out apprentice Ben Robinson had the Ellison horse in front and, though edging right, looked sure to land the £25,000 contest, but it wasn't to be as Luke Morris produced 20-1 shot Barracuda Boy late to deny him.
